Midges and Nymphs

I got out on the river for a little fishing this afternoon and got into a few fish right away. Sorry no photos of the fish. As the afternoon passed the fishing really slowed down. The water had started to get a bit off color but it wasn’t really muddy. Some of the discoloration was from silt but most of it was from insects and insect husks. There were a few midges and some mayflies in the air. I put the rod down and collected a few samples since fishing was so slow. Without a collecting net I was scooping the little critters up with a spare fly container. Here are the best two photos and a short video.

Cool pictures of the creepy crawlers/swimmers. That must have been a lot of insect movement to discolor the water.
