I couldn't agree more! I am thrilled that he is taking to it so easily. Last night, we went up to our neighbor's place and my wife caught her first two Bluegills on a little parachute ant. She now wants me to make her a 3 wt like mine and an 8 weight for our trip to Alaska. Who would have guessed.
Here is the moment when she realized she had a fish on.
The fish were biting even after dark and she stayed at it until the bugs drove us into the house for Boysenberry Martinis. Life is good !

Actually was pink....I told my wife I tied it especially for her!

Jim, next time you take the family to that pond, tie on a pheasant tail or hares ear nymph about 12 inches under the dry of your choice and see what happens.
