Opening day in Czech Rep (update)

Postby czech flyfisherman » April 29th, 2009, 2:09 pm

Hey all,

I am so sorry its take me so long to make a report, but here is it

So the opening day here in Czech was 15th of April. I was waiting for this day like child for sweet candy :D. The weather was perfect, water was nice and clear. It was little nervous because it was long time ago I fish a home river, but I was suprice of amout of fish in the river, I mean not realy big fish, but lots of them. Most fish are between 10 - 15 inch and 70% wild browns, 25% grayling - right now they are in spawing and the rest % was rainbow - they are stock fish, so they stay in river just few days because fishermans are keeping them in most time.

So I stast here - about 15 miles in wilderenes where the river (Moravice) flows.

The river (Moravice) flows in beatiful maedow, full of flowers and wild live

Here is one small creek, this creek is conected with the river but I never saw anybody fish there and this is good think because there is a lot of nice fish, flyfishing is difficuld, but worth it, I spend there 3 hours of fishing and I get around 40 fish in this size - very nice for here :D
This small creek is behing this dam ( my secret place )

All this fishing was done with streamers 70%, and the rest for czech nymphing, no dry fishing at all.
Here is my fathers home is about 50 feet from the river.

O.k so I hope you all like the report and will stay in touch. One bad think is I can fish JUST 3 DAYS OF WEEK that is suck.

Take care Zee.

Yeah, Zee! Way to go.

So what's this:

Some sort of perch?
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Hi Darrin,

This fish is bass or dwarf sunfish I am not sure :D , but they grow up to 15inch max. And if you caught them in the river you must kill them, because they eating small trout.

O.K about the fences......it is very sucks, they bild the fance almost everywhere along the river, but in the fence cable is elekricity so you heve to be very cerefull :D , but I take with me clipers and I cut the fences in couple of places  , but this fence is still o.k, but there is another fence and this one is almost 7feet tall and there is no gate for us, so there is no way how you can get in the river, there is just one way you have to climb the fence :o .

there's lots of electric fences in my hood is well. they're used by farmers to keep stock in. takes a bit of creativity to get around some of em 8-)

cutting them around here wouldn't be a good idea though... it would be quite obvious it was done by fly fishers
