We will all expect t-shirts that say something like "Craig got to go fishing in Florida and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" or at the very least a mouseketeer hat. Have a safe trip. ;)

Wow, awesome shot Aaron. Are you using a prime 16mm/2.8 or the wide-angle zoom 14-24mm/2.8?

Spenser, if you like that one, you should check out Aaron's blog for more of his pics. Also, the guy in the pic is, I believe, Corey, another one of the guys that posts here. You should check out his pics too.

Aaron, if you have really decided to give up the blog, I hope you will continue to bring us more of your pics. Great stuff, and personally, I think your photography just keeps getting better. Of course getting out with guys like Corey and Bryan would provide inispiration I would think. And the places you've been going? Wow. Pretty good photogs themselves and fishermen to boot. Not that you appear to have trouble keeping up. I know I would, but you seem to be right there with them from what I've seen. Keep em' coming. :D
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Many of the great shots are on a wide angle lens. There is a good EF-S lens that is a 10-22 that would be great for the Wide angle stuff.

A macro lens would help you for other types of shots.

But seriously, go buy a "nifty fifty" right now. (EF 50mm F1.8.) Its $75, super plasticey, and the absolute best $75 you can spend on your DSLR... its super fast, produces amazing shallow depth of field shots, and is super fun for doing portraits. Fun indoors with no flash too.
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

I couldnt agree more with getting a 50mm 1.8 .. Just do it! The 10 -22 is a great lens for a wide angle.
