Postby Rockstar Fisherman » August 16th, 2009, 5:52 pm

Anyone have any links to where I can get a custom rod tube made? I've tried googleing this a few times and haven't had much luck.

Thanks, Mike

Not sure how custom you would like, but REC makes some nice tubes. You have several options for finish(color & texture), and hardware.

I don't know if you are looking for one that's made of aluminum or if it's for something special but you could always use PVC pipe. A tight end cap on both ends and you have a cheap tube for carrying it in the car. With a thin wall PVC you might even have a nice backpacking tube. Just a thought.

Mike, check this guy out. Flybob bought a rod tube from him; it looked really good. Not custom but a wide array of sizes.

If your looking for something very custom, and beautiful...

We have a member on this forum who does mighty fine wood work... I happen to own a custom built 8 sided wooden rod tube. Its built like a fine cabinet :)

I've bought a few from this guy. Very nice tubes. Maybe a bit heavier than factory aluminum tubes, but still very nice.

REC can engrave the cap, and do logos. I've had them engrave a cap, but no logos.
