Thread trim wrap For WildFly

Postby stanbery » October 21st, 2009, 1:48 am

1. Wrap 2nd from right is One turn silver trim with Dark Green Thread
2. Wrap on the right is One turn Electra Black with Dark Green Thread (I like how this looks the best)
3. Dark green wraps without a trim wrap

Image

The Candy Apple Thread will be used at the 20 inch mark only

Electra black is the thread on the left and silver thread is the one 2nd from the left
The thread that we will be useing on the build is #521 dark green to match the blank(2nd from the left)

I picked number two. As you can see in the above picture Electra Black has a BJAC kind of look to it.

Number 2 and as suggestion to keep the 20" candy apple wrap discreet/small to keep the Winston a "classy gal"

I guess I just like things plain jane. Trim wraps just add unneeded flash IMO.
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

Not knowing Craig's preferences on this, but understanding that most seem to like trim wraps, I voted for one turn silver with the green. That said, how about a 1 or 2 turn red, with CP. No flash, but still get that red carried through the rods length?

Just asking is all.

For myself, I am not a fan of flashy trim wraps, but using a contrasting color thread for trim I do like.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Yup. We don't want the founders of Winston turning in their graves. ;)

I voted #2. I hope without cp the candy apple will be very subtle...

Thanks,
