You know, I was just gonna PM you and suggest you post to this end. Also, contact Raider. Perhaps you could get into the Mentor program he set up. Oh wait, he posted about having to miss the event…contact Converted. He and Firefly are heading that up now. Or not, just a thought… ;)

I was actually a little surprised by one of the mentorees. Tuna. That guys really knows how to fish, IMO. But he's not fished the Kern before, so I think that was why he signed up for a mentor. Hope it works out. :D

I'm sure you'll kill it. Home court advantage!

Craig, sorry to hear that. :( I had know the deadline was past (Sept. 12) but was not sure whether new entries were being accepted or not. One thing, you are right about the burgers at the brewery. I am not personally a big fan of their beers, though the stout was decent. The burgers and their fries were fantastic.

Craig,
I'm not fishing or attending the Rendezvous on Sat, but will be going to the camp Friday eve to meet some friends (I think I've still got one or two there). However, if you wish to fish the Kern in the future and want a local to tag along just let me know. I'll be happy to fish with you.

Craig you can come to dinner with us. We would love to have you join us. And fishing! I usually have Wednesday and Thursday off and would be proud as perch to have you fish with me. I can even climb around those rocks like a young pup if need be.

Craig, there is nothing stopping you from driving up and fishing on the river. You may not be in the running for prizes, but you can still fish according to tourny regs and see how you stack up. And as I understood it, dinner is open to everyone, not just tournament entrants.

I had a smallish window of possibly making it out, but now cannot, I was just going out to meet everyone, and fish solo.

I had that samething on Monday, though I preferred the blonde over the IPA. Are you still in need of a partner? As of now I don't have one but I talked to Bill at the Troutfitters on Sunday and he said just show up and they'll pair me up if I don't have one.

I kinda rushed through this post so I may have missed athing or two but if you're still looking for a partner I am too and would be glad to spend the day fishing with you.

No worries brotha, there are lots of guys on this board that will be willing to meet up and spend a day on the water with you. I attended the tournament last year and while it was cool to meet lots of members of the club. It was Eric and I who teamed up for a day of picking up trash and measuring each others fish, we had a really good time on the water. I'm saying that you can fish with a budy any time. The main enjoyment of the tournament was fishing IMHO, but I'm not to big on the group thing and try to fish with just a small select group of guys at any one time. For the most part I fish with just a couple of guys and that's good enough. Crowds on the river are no fun, for me that is. Everyone is different and some people like to be around large groups.

If you really want to get a group together so that you could meet the faces behind the names, then I would suggest that you start a buddy outing section on the forum or create a group outing section where whomever wants to join in can just post a message or PM if they are intrested. Just a thought ;)
