Fishing Guide Earns Olympic Silver

Postby WatchinTheWater » February 15th, 2010, 7:10 am

If y'all have been watching the olympics a summer fly fishing guide and expert fly tier earned a silver medal in the nordic combined. Congrats Johnny Spillane! All of us in Steamboat are extremely proud of our local athletes (Todd Lodwick was fourth) and someday, between casts on the Yampa, maybe Johnny will tell the story of winning a silver medal.

I love the winter olympics and my hat's off to each and every competitor there. They are all truly inspirational. Congrats to your friend, as that experience and metal will be one of the highlights of his life.

I was watching that race. So awesome. I loved how they all just like fell over and collapsed face down into the snow after they finished. Further proof that fishermen are great people...
