Hit Perris lake with my grandson this morning before the Laker game started. Fished the old water slide point. We saw some bass working the shallows for breakfast. My grandson using spinhead gear tied on a crankbait that a good friend had given him. I was using Clear camo intermedite sink with a tried and ture Enrico's shad tied bentback style. Farmed my first two and landed the third.
Not more then ten went by when I heard a yell from my grandson saying "I have a big one on and he is taking line out!!"
The way he was peeling line out I knew it was his first carp. After 20 minutes and four long runs he finally landed the fish. Foul hooked. Well it as a good fight and he learn a little bit more about landing large fish.
A little over 16 lbs. (boy it felt heavyer than that) and 32" long
