So After hitting the river 11 days ago for Chinook; I was all set to try it again this weekend. Timing is critical in this type of fishing and my trip was a few days too early. A quick check of the regs prior to my planned trip tomorrow yielded this new tid bit of info.

I guess I will have to wait till next year........ Oh well, it will be small freestones and my 0wt rods till steelhead season opens (not that I mind one bit).

There is something to be said for seasons. The anticipation and planning during the off season is something to be enjoyed. Next year!!

Yup...... I really wanted to get one this year, but such is life. Areas on the Clearwater are still open; however I am not so inclined to drive those distances for a day trip at the moment. Besides I have a very cool trip planned for mid August.

Well, shoot. That would have been a great report. At least you have a lot on the plate coming up.

I spent eight aggravating years chasing salmon and steelhead on the Olympic Peninsula. Seasons change daily and the fish are present on Tuesday and gone on Wednesday :comfort: Bewildering but is it rewarding when the stars align

next year will be your year!
