Landing Nets

I like fishing minimalist style, take only what I need, mostly on a lanyard. My net is rpobably the heaviest piece of equipment, made of wood. Got me to thinking about nets made of graphite not wood but when I did a search for one I came up with ohly 1 hit, any reason why?

Not sure why there hasn't been any graphite fishing nets made yet, considering that there seems to be tons of other graphite products out on the market in other sports. Why not a graphite fishing net? The only thing I could think of is cost, perhaps it's really expensive to produce.

This is my son, on the Madison River, with one of those "pop open" nets that is kept on your belt, in a hard plastic pouch...I think they still have these at Culver's Sporting Goods in Bishop...

If you want to stay minimalist don't carry a net. You can land and release a fish with out a net.
