I'm waiting excitedly for the first (of many) pictures of wild redbands caught on your new 000wt (corrected per Sasha). Has it come in yet?

I tried to get Midger to join the Coed Naked Fly Fishing Club this weekend during our backpack trip and thus provide some of this '*' everyone is asking for. But for some reason with air temps at 23 degrees and water temps at 39 he decided to refrain from doing so. On second thought, maybe that's a good thing.

I don't want to find out that your wife beat the crap out of you and broke your wrists and now you can't fish anymore, so I'd say "probably not".

flybob,
Nice ladybug picture. We get them in swarms up here in late July/August.

As for my unwillingness to join the "neked" club that Jon is recruiting for, it was darn cold this weekend with the front moving in. The first night it got down to 23 F where we were camped. By the second night, a heat wave had hit and it was:

Image

As you can see it had really warmed up. ;)

The water temperatures were also very cold in the early AM:

Image

Here you can see that spandoc was really getting into the club activiites. Notice how he's dressed from head to toe with nary a body part showing?

Image

The fish also didn't bite well at all when the water temps were below 46 F, but once the water warmed to 46 F, well.................Lots and lots of fish could be caught. Friday they were really on dries...........or wets, or nymphs. ;) We did well as the water was 48 F when we started. Largest fish brought to hand was 19 inches long--measured, not guessitmated.

For those that enjoy *, here are a few shots of trout. Most of these are from this backpacking outing.

And some water shots of the River Runs Through It--Our camp, that is.

Tight Lines. And oh, the largest one came right out of that flat above the riffles in river picture 1, so you can't say I didn't tell you where a big fish could be caught at. Several spin fishermen were excited when I hooked and landed it, not so much when I let it go........ :o

Where is that shower! Ah cold. That makes me feel a lot better, especially the ones at the end. When I was MTB in the north I came around this corner, into a darkening glen, and it seemed that the ground was breathing. Upon closer inspection the complete area was 'moving' with breeding ladybugs. I'll never forget that sight.
Wildfly it's a com'n.
