Redington warranty question?

Hi all, just a quickie has anyone gone through a Redington fly rod warranty?If so did they deliver?On the fine print it states they reserve the right to determine whether to replace or repair :? What the?I'm going to send my Predator 7/8 back in due to a ceramic guide that suddenly fell off. :o

I had no problems with Redington's warranty. I have sent in two broken rods, and both had the broken section replaced. I have another rod that needs to go in. :oops:

Nick,

Just got my 4-piece RS2 replaced with a new RS4. Loaned the 4-piece to a klutz, who promptly broke off the tip, did not think to bring the tip pieces back. Sent in the 3 pieces, and they covered it by sending a brand new (icky gold color) RS4 model 4-piece for the $30 service fee. Came back right away, too. I was impressed.

Luckily, it's my spare, so I don't have to look at it very often, not a great color scheme, but a nice quality rod anyway.

The replace or repair clause comes into play when like John Harper they don't have anymore parts for an old rod model. They are still making the Predator series so chances are good they will just replace the section thats broken. If they had updated the series than they usually replace the whole rod with an updated model. You usually won't get the newest model just the oldest one they still have.




On a side note this is the kind of thing fly shops are for. Instead of asking on the interweb and MAYBE getting the correct answer how about a visit to the local fly shop. Just Sayin'.

Thank you every one for the helpful reply's next time im supporting my local fly shops.I tend to buy online and deprive myself of true customer service. :doh:
