2nd annual Fly Addicts BBQ and Casting Games

Last year we had a good time with a lot of Addicts in attendance. A potluck for lunch and BBQ for dinner like last time. Bob I look forward to your smoked salmon again. If you are just starting out with fly fishing and need some pointers on how to make that tricky cast, there will be some great casters and fisherman to help you out. If you want to try out a few rods you won’t be disappointed. Last year we had a bunch of rods. If you are new to the forum and would like to meet other members this is a good place to say hi! So who wants to attend? If some of you would like to attend but live out in the desert or further out, I can make room for you in my place.

For those of you who love to fly fish....this day is spectacularly fun. There were something like 35 different rods...everything from 1wts to Winstons to Bamboo to try out and cast. An incredible pot luck with cast iron and BBQ cooking that was pretty extraordinary and the fun of playing the casting games. There will be a number of certified fly casting instructors there to help out and give pointers. You can improve your casting a great deal just from what you will learn and do that Saturday. Take the time to look through the post on last year's event. We really had a great time and am looking forward to an even better day this year.

I think if Bob was coming with smoked salmon it's safe to say my girlfriend will be in attendance again haha. Hopefully I can get out again, was a fun time last year!

I missed the fun at last year's BBQ but I hope not to make that same mistake this year. I've got the date penciled into my calendar and will be there unless Robin develops plans for me that weekend.

And, if it is Smoked Salmon ye seek, it is Smoked Salmon ye shall receive...in abundance!
As the date approaches I will just need a head count to make sure I make plenty.

I will also bring some brews for those who enjoy the hoppier beverages.

And, like last year, and the year before that, I will bring a few bamboo rods, for those of you who would like to experience the FEEL of bamboo.

Great times....good food....some learning thrown in....lots of casting and trying out rods. The second annual Casting Games is something you don't want to miss. Bring something for the Pot Luck or cook it right there. Hoping to see you there!
