Madison River Fishing Company has the Winston GVX rods on sale at $299. This is a great rod for that price. FlyBob bought one a while back and I had a chance to cast it (8’ 6” 3 wt) and was impressed with how well it preformed. Put one on your Christmas List. http://www.mrfc.com/MadisonRiverShoppin ... tegoryID=4
umf...that is a good price. I bought one for my wife a year or so ago, also the 3 wt. and it is a fun rod.

Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
Hmmm, I've been looking for a good 5 wt. but I'm not sure if I want to go with this shorter rod (8'6") or keep looking for a 9'. Decisions, decisions...

Jon, Some folks think 8’ 6” is the perfect length for a 5 wt. I really like my 8'6" 5 wt WT. Mark
