If you could be air-dropped to fish anywhere in America....

Where would you choose to go?

Honestly, right now my top choice would be the Upper Yaak River in North-Western Montana. The native redbands are stunningly beautiful. I don't know that there's a prettier native rainbow/redband. Combine that with the fact that it's a ridiculously long drive from So. Cal to the MT/Canada border and you can see my reason for this to be my "air-drop" selection.

Your suggestion sounds GREAT!
My 2c = The "Bob" (SF Flathead) or Tehipite Valley.
Thank you berry mush :)

I would have to say the upper Yellowstone River closer to two ocean pass (WY), or even the upper Fall River Basin on the Belcher River (YNP), the third and fourth meadow on Slough Creek (MT), the third meadow on Elk Creek in southern Colorado. All these places require long hikes carrying everything in on your back. Maybe someone my age could hire an outfitter and go in by horseback. Air-dropped? I'm not sure helicopters are even allowed in YNP and parachuting in could be a death defying thrill all in itself.

Air drop me on Kaui. With or without fly gear and I'd be happy.

It's been advertised heavily recently but kamchatka looks like a good spot.
Big canadian brookies have always been another reason for my existance. Some day hopefully..
Please let me know if any of you have room in your aircraft. I'm down for WHEREVER!

Lots of places I'd love to fish in America. Does South America count? If so, I'd love to tangle with some Peacock bass deep in the Amazon jungle. If not, perhaps the US Virgin islands for some tropic flats fishing. Of course, it would be hard to beat a river deep in the Alaskan Wilderness. Too many choices. Too many choices.

Some no-named stream high in the mountains full of 12-14 inch wild trout that will rise to a dry all day long.

I'm sure there are plenty of places that fit that description throughout the Rockies, and one day, maybe, I'll find a few of them.

@Dry Fly Rie: Amen man! That's a perfect trip.I'd love to get deep into the Rockies lost in various cutties and trout for a week or so.

@JimboRoberts: Yellowstone is a dream! TOO MUCH GOOD WATER. It reminds me of the old Far Side comic: Fish or cut bait.

@Bernard: I once drove to Flathead with the family (well I rode in the car as my father drove...about 10 years ago). Fly there. That's all I have to say! That drive is NOT WORTH IT. Plus while you're there you can target some pure Westlope's...they're stunners up there.

Kamchatka. It's close to America according to my "RISK" game board.

Wind River Range a couple weeks after ice out or latish fall. Since this is a fantasy, I will assume I can wait for a weather window to open up and can take a case of beer and some steaks with me too.
