**August Photo Contest**

Postby WanderingBlues » July 24th, 2013, 9:23 am

With warm weather upon us, treating the trout with respect is a priority. Most members on the forum are happy to snap a photo of their catch, and to practice C&R. However, sometimes the taking of the photo causes as much stress as if the fish were to be laid on the ground.

The August photo contest is "A Fish in Water..." Post up your best shot of a caught fish with at least part of the fish still in the water. Or, post up a shot of a fish in it's natural environment (breaking surface for a fly, underwater photo's etc).

Limit is 2 shots that you took yourself. It doesn't have to be a fish you caught. If you are submitting 2, keep them in the same post. It doesn't matter when or where they were taken. B&W, HDR, and post-processing is allowed. The contest will be weighted with the subject matter counting first, and aesthetics second. The contest will be judged by the beautiful and talented artist, Ms WanderingBlues... WInner takes home an FFA T-shirt in either Sage or Sand.

I've included an example by a great fly tosser and photographer out of Provo, Justin Hamblin. Good luck!

Do the fish have to be caught in August? Obviously not, I assume, as it isn't August yet.. ;)

Nice pictures so far.

No time limit. The focus is on healthy fish and fish handling.

In... I will post some stuff up when I return from Florida. I have to hit this one spot when I get back and see if "something" is still there. Midger knows where I am speaking of ;)

They might not be as this has been an early year for everything. If not I am sure I have a few pics I can dig up :bananadance:

Sasha--they are there and salmon haven't really started running yet--next week should be prime. Egg patterns should produce some good fish for water shots.
