Ken,

As a avid/rabid striper guy, I want to thank you for stepping up, and helping raise funds for this worthy cause. And! You'd be hard pressed to find a better list of prizes. I'm saving my pennies to buy as many tickets as I can. :)

Thanks! It's a cause very close to my heart! It is an amazing list of prizes. There are some of those guide days I'd love to have. I'll be buying my share too.

Well, another Striperfest is in the books. I'm sure some folks are busy tallying up the numbers, but from what Dan said, it should be the best ever Striperfest. The raffle prize list was nothing short of amazing. http://www.danblanton.com/viewmessage.php?id=146856 The food was very good, and VERY welcomed after a day on the water. Hard to imagine, but the event went off without a hitch. Beneficiary of this fun event, is protecting the Delta fishery as a whole, and our beloved stripers.

Personally, it is a win, win, and win thing for me. I get to support a cause very important to me, get a shot at winning some awesome prizes, and this year, met and fished with a new striper fisherman.

Matt fished on Sat with a very competent striper fisherman. By Sun., he had to draw on that experience, because he was saddled with me that morning. I stumbled into some fish, and Matt caught his share of fish. I gave him a "secret fly", and I think he may have landed more fish than I did. Somewhat slow catching day, but I really enjoyed the company.....even if it rained the whole time.

Oh, and I did win a bag full of great prizes. A special rod built for The Fest was built by my buddy................and I won it!! Also, a nice Solitude 5 reel, flies, a gift cert, wine(2 bottles), Quigley Big Game leaders, and other stuff I can't recall right now.

From normal distance, this looks like a LMB decal. When you get close(macro), you can see it's all done with thread. :o

Can't wait for next year.

Beauty rod you won, Brian! Stunning. :D Congrats.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

More loot. :)

A very cool print, big game leaders(4), perfect loops, gift cert, two boxes of very cool flies, and a Solitude 5 reel. There were 2 bottles of red wine that didn't make it home. :) This year, and past years Striperfest Raffles have been good to me. Even if I don't win any prizes, I WIN. It's a worthy cause.
