I am pleased to be sharing word of this fantastic multi-pronged event. A bunch of shops and a bunch of clubs all banding together on one night in the name of making fly fishing more accessible! Please do share this with anyone who you feel might be remotely interested!
Sport Chalet and California Fly Fishermen Unite!
Ten Southern California Sports Chalet stores will offer free introductions to fly-fishing on Friday, Oct. 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. Basic beginner fly fishing instruction – covering all aspects of the sport – will be provided courtesy of volunteer members from ten local Southwest Council Federation of Fly Fishers clubs. Club member volunteers will provide hands-on instructional sessions covering fly-tying, casting, equipment, and general where-to-go and how-to-do it for local fly-fishing in both fresh and saltwater. Providing the opportunity for non fly fishermen as well as newbie anglers is something the Southwest Council and the clubs have always felt is an often overlooked obligation of fly fishermen. This unique multi-store event is certainly a creative step in the right direction!
Sport Chalet stores with fly-fishing clubs include:
· Long Beach – Downey Fly Fishers and Long Beach Casting Club;
· San Marcos – Golden State Flycasters;
· Rancho Cucamonga – Hi-Desert Flyfishers;
· LaCanada – Pasadena Casting Club;

· Porter Ranch – Sierra Pacific Flyfishers;
