Ray Sugiyama's Seychelles Adventure

Postby DowneyFlyFishers » January 6th, 2014, 9:24 pm

Downey Fly Fishers January 14th meeting will feature Ray Sugiyama's Seychelles Adventure.
The group caught 34 different species of fish during the week from small reef fish to large tuna, Sailfish and many species of grouper. While wading and fishing for bonefish with his 9wt rod, Ray spotted, hooked and landed a record Bump Head Parrot fish that weighed 80 pounds. Ray photographed many of the fish he and the group caught and will present a very interesting Power Point presentation you will not want to miss at the January meeting.

There will be a fly tying demo from six to seven.

The general meeting starts at 7:00pm.

Wow,
Those parrot fish are creepy and have bizarre mouth capable of serious coral crushing. Crazy to think of getting one on a fly. Might you be able to eventually post images online? I'd love to get a taste. I can't make the event.
Thanks!

Bernard,

I asked Ray for a picture. I will upload the image when I get it. Tough enough to get a hook into a trigger fish, let
alone a 70lb bumpfish!
