7th Annual SWCFFF Inter-Club Tournament

Date: Saturday November 5, 2016
Place: Kern River
Purpose: Fund raiser for SWCIFFF
Participants: 5 members per team (Controllers no longer required)
Entry Fee: $125 per club per team, $35 per non-IFFF member or $25 per IFFF member. See application below.
Time to:
• Test your skills against the other SWCIFFF clubs
• Meet members belonging to other clubs.
• Help raise funds for the SWCIFFF.
• Get your Club’s name on the trophy & bragging rights for a year.
Each club selects their best 5 fly fishers to this event, based upon their own criteria. The tournament format has completely changed. We will no longer have beats. There will be approx. one mile long sections where the participant can fish anywhere within the section. This will allow participants to enter easily accessible water and fish areas that are more suitable to their liking. This is a “catch and release” event, take pictures of your catch. There will be two (morning & afternoon) 2 hour sessions.
Rules:
1. Just fly fish in your own section and allow space between you and your competitors.
Meet at the Kern River Fly Shop at 8:00 am November 5, 2016 for check-in.

For those of you that want to brush up on your techniques on the Kern, Guy Jeans will be conducting a workshop Friday morning, November 4th, starting at 8 a.m. There is no cost for this clinic but it’s only being offered to participants in the tournament that have taken this class only once or never. If you already taken this class two times, you no longer qualify for the class. Guy wants to give special attention to the new participants.
The Southwest Council has reserved The Kern Lodge and other hotels in the area securing a good rates for all of the rooms/cabins. They can accommodate anything from a single to 6 people in style. Contact Michael Schweit (818.757-3474) msangler@earthlink.net) for rooms available.
We will be having the awards presentation/dinner at Ewing On The Kern. 125 Buena Vista Dr., Kernville on Saturday evening, starting at 6 pm. The cost is $30.00 per person.
Clubs may send up to 2 teams. Deadline for Inter-Club Tournament application is October 29, 2016. Application is attached. Also, please RSVP attendance to the Awards Presentation Dinner by October 29, 2016 to
haramic@aol.com Mention club name and number of members attending. Cost for the Awards Dinner is $30.00 per person collected at the door. Please have your team captain collect the dinner fee from the team members.
You can also participate in the Southern Sierra Youth Fundraiser Poker Night on Friday evening, Nov. 4th at the same Ewings On The Kern. Buy-in is only $25.00.
