Hello.

I am fairly new to fly fishing but I love to fish for anything. Large mouth and salt water have been my passion for awhile.

Now that I have found fly fishing I enjoy the peace and quite. More of a mental relaxation.

Welome Matar! Keep reading and posting and don't be afraid to ask questions. We tend to be happy to help out in most cases.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Welcome, Matar. So what's the story behind the screen name? Matar means 'to kill' in Spanish, where did you come up with your name? Looking forward to your posts.

Welcome! There are some very knowledgable people here, a few heated discussions, people to fish with and certainly lots of information. Glad to see you've come to fly fishing. We've also got a few sea-hounds here who I'm sure will share a morning on the water.

Looking forward to hearing about your fly fishing experiences and how you got started. There's a popular saying here....no pictures-it did't happen. Where's your home waters and what kind of fly fishing do you enjoy. I would echo tenandtwo''s recommendation to read our welcome (viewtopic.php?f=56&t=6816o) to new members on things that are important here. They're simple but important.

I got my start about two years ago and have only been fly fishing a few times but love it. I live in lake forest ca. I just did an epic weekend in bishop/mammoth lots of fish and some video. I can't post to the site for some reason. If there is anyone in my area and would like to come over for a drink and give me pointers and maybe plan a trip I am all for it.

What are you having trouble posting....pictures? Have you uploaded photos to other sites? We'll give you the five minute tutorial.

Get an account at Photobucket or Picasa. It's free.

Follow the site's instructions and upload the photos you wish to share.

Open an new tab on your browser and open this site. Open a new Topic. Start writing your introduction to the trip or photos. Leave this tab open.

Go the Photobucket or picasa tab and select the first photo. There is a listing of ways to share the photo. Find the one with [img] around it on both ends and copy it.

Go to other tab and paste it into the FFA post. Type more descriptions...redo the above until your done.

Looking forward to seeing your adventures up on the Eastern Sierra!

I asked the same question when I was new to the site. Here's the instructions that helped me:
