Orvis H2

Thanks Tim, considering that Juan is an Orvis endorsed guide his giving a slight edge to the Zenith say's something. But also like he say's we need to cast them ourselves and make our own decisions. I have always liked his site.

You can cast one yourself this weekend at Bob Marriotts. Hutch Hutchinson will be there to answer Questions about Orvis products.

Like the article said you need to cast them to get a true feel. Each angler is unique, so I take all rewiews with a grain of salt. the Orvis event at Marriotss on April 6ths is a great place to go to give not only the H2 a whirl, but to compare it with other like rods at the same time. Do this with Hutch since he does this as part of his in put to the Orvis R and D team. See you at Marriots on the 6th.

I like the H2 quite a bit more than my Helios. The H2 is actually an easier casting rod to me than my Helios. It has a lot more stored power in the rod that I can feel loading up, especially on the back cast. It is also a bit more responsive than the Sage One in the tip upon release. I am casting 9wt. through 14wts. I barely pick up anything under a 6wt. anymore, and when I do it is usually an old cane rod.

Yep , I plan on going up and trying one. Fly rods are like surf boards in that every body feels something a little different when they try one.

Yup, one has to cast and get what they like. Personally, I will be sticking with my helios for a while. I just really like the rod. Now when I decide I need a new 7wt cannon, I will go check out the new H2. * for my go to 5wt, I am still on my Zero Gravity as I just like that rod.
