Haha but how far can he cast! :bananadance: I guess if our fly rods ever break while on a trip w/ and we don't have a backup rod we don't have an excuse to throw in the towel.

He cheated. He used a reel. :)

Lefty used to cast without a rod(demonstrations at shows). I tried it once. It was like throwing a baseball without warming up. Painful, and I gave up after a few tries.

Ok, I'm sold... who wants a few thousand dollars worth of fly rods?

Back in the 80's a friend of mine Joe Robinson, flycasting instructor and orvis guide, showed me I needed no rod at all. He gave me a casting lesson with just a flyline inside the Austin Angler. We had his dog "Tippet" chasing a tuff of yard from one side of the store to the other. It was enlightening.

Good luck with that. I'll be keeping my SPL's.

What's the matter with you folks? Can't you see he's casting the new Sage Invisible One. Lightest rod ever developed by Sage and it practically disappears in your hands. It should be hitting your local flyshops the Summer of 2013.
