Fellow Addict needs our help. Stolen Fly box

Postby Fishfreak911 » April 17th, 2013, 10:00 am

Hey guys. I was talking to Andre, aka, Jazz on the Fly, at my club meeting last week. Somebody broke into his SUV an stole some things right out in front of his house. Among the things stolen was a large box of flies. As I understand it, this was nearly ALL of his flies. I also know that he's been struggling financially the last few years and replacement flies won't be the highest priority item to purchase. I know he fishes bass, b/g, and trout. I am hoping that some of the tiers here can pitch in and help him out. I am putting together some flies and a box for him. I will give it to him at the next FFCOC meeting on May 8th.

If you'd like to help out a fellow Fly fisherman in need, please send flies to:

Greg Madrigal

Thanks to all in advance!

Andre is a good guy, too bad a scum-bag ripped him off. I can come up with a few flies to help him get back on the water, at least if he wants to fish for trout!

Thanks everybody. I received a few flies in the mail already (thanks to hpskiff I think???)but could use some more trout flies. I'll be tying some up myself here in a few days. Right now, getting the whole inside of the house textured & painted and ceilings scraped. What a mess!

I also have a commitment from 2 gents in our ff club.

Thank you to all who donated. Mark you knocked it outta the park! Tomsakai, thank you! Hpskiff, I think I received some from you, so thank you as well. Nice bass flies btw! Andre is back in business for sure with the help from you guys! Curtis, you are right, this is good karma com'n round for Andre, since he is the guy who introduced me to Addicts in the first place.

I actually received more flies than I had room for in a box I was giving to Andre. If anyone has an extra old box, that would be way cool, otherwise, I know someone is bringing 1 to the FFCOC meeting next week, but it sure would be nice to have them neatly set in a box ahead of the meeting, rather than a clump of steel, fur & feathers.
You done good folks, thank you!

Hey Everyone,

It's funny, I was totally surprised at the FFCOC meeting tonight when Greg handed me a bag full of fly boxes and a ton of flies. Since mostly all I have been doing on the board lately is quickly dropping in and looking for "fish *" I totally missed this thread, which of course led to me being blindsided by this act of generosity on everyone's part. So, thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart. I was actually fortunate in that a bunch of my rods and reels were in my car too and none were taken, probably because my car was a complete and total mess so they broke my window and just grabbed was was most handy, which was my sling pack with most of my flies and a gym bag with a bunch of my clothes. The worst part is, that they probably looked through all of it and probably deemed it useless and threw it in a dumpster somewhere. So , once again, I extend a huge THANK YOU to you all.

Andre

P.S. I promise to post the resulting fish pics from all of your efforts.

Andre,
I'm sorry to hear some scum-bag ripped you off. Hopefully you can get back on the water soon.

Yeah Mark, that *stuff* really chaps my *hide*. Now that all of you replaced all the flies I lost several fold, I will definitely be back on the water soon.
