Probably out of season for them or he hadn't purchased a 2009 license yet. :lol:

U don't know me Joe, I'm a close friend of ur future in-laws and live in the Durango Co area (Vallecito Lake actually, which i hear ur familiar w/). Anyhow, it's good to see that Clea has picked someone w/ the right addiction's, and U have an open invite to come and fish the area streams (i live an hr from the Juan) and ski the local hill (Purgatory).......mike

Great trip and report and it was good to get a few laps on the hill with you. By the way Joe kept up with this old patroller pretty well. You and Jon got out of town just in time; it turned cold yesterday. Cold from the land of that hat of yours slid in lowering the thermometer to the -20's. I think that fishin' hole behind the motel (and the rest of the river here in town) will be icing up and not fishable for a month or two. Plan a trip back in March and see if you can nap that same fish when the river ices out. The tailwater and the ski hill will have to entertain until then.
