Some Recommendations:
1) All modern rackets are graphite composites. They are very light. The only disadvantage I see is if it gets dinged up, you might get some fiberglass splinters.
2) The Aluminum rackets from the 70's/80's would work great too.
3) Rackets come in 3 main head (Hoop) sizes: Standard (Think Spaulding Poncho Gonzales), Mid size and Oversized. The Woodie is an oversized head.
The woodie works great on the float tube. If you plan on taking it streamside it is a little bulky. Plus, I can see it now, "Whats that guy doing with a tennis racket on Hot Creek?"
