Getting excited about a backpacking trip and the vouse coming up so I thought I’d share some recent pics from FF trips. Me and my son Joey have been fishing/hiking allot this summer. Joey checking out some of his native heritage . Rocking the spey. A few good beers then off to the brewery is how the days usually end in Kville. Heres Joey boogying down to the stoneflys. /P1000684.jpg.html][/URL] Got to help out on the Raider mentoring day. It was allot of fun. A nurse I work with hooked up her first fish OTF. Her hands were shaking and that was the beginning of a new an addict. Also got to hang out with Chris’s socks. Hung out in RHB with KC and his son. He is a trooper and made it in and out no prob. Me and my dog were walking upriver from our camp at RHB. Something lobbed a good size rock at us. It landed in the middle of the river. We stood and watched to see what it was but nothing. Tripped out. Spent allot of time on the Kern is the steep canyon arias with good friends. Pete was kind enough to let me demo one of his fantastic epic rod builds. Pretty nice bendo on these things! Beautiful rods Pete! Been hiking to some lakes this summer too. Love the ES backcountry. Did some nice creekin with good buddies. Made it back to Wyo this year. It was awesome as usual. Got to fly around Jackson with my wifes cousins husband Ry who is a pilot there. The view from his hangar is pretty nice. He bravely let me steer the plane for a while. The wind blows these little planes around pretty good. You really get the feeling of it when steering them around. It’s a great way to spot nice fishing locations. Or just having a brew. I got to meet up with my buddy Chris in Idaho who has been guiding these arias for the past 18 yrs. It is also his fault I am a fly fishing nut, as he is responsible for my addiction. He taught me the basics a while back and soon after I was a full fledged addict. The salmon flys were everywhere. Bank fishing with big foam imitations was the key. I haven’t had that much fun in a long time. S. Fork Snake.
It was great to see this guy again Nonstop that day. Fish were jumping out of the water and dive bombing the fly! Floated by a moose while hooked up to a pig cutt. Can’t wait to get back. Well I guess this is more of a trip sharing VS fly fishing report. Hope you guys like the pics. See you a the shindig!
Looks like a summer vacation well spent! Lots of fish, scenery, and great times with family and friends. Thanks for sharing.
"Should you cast your fly into a branch overhead or into a bush behind you, or miss a fish striking, or lose him,or slip into a hole up to your armpits-keep your temper; above all things don't swear, for he that swears will catch no fish."
Fantastic summer if you ask me. Regarding the thrown rock - my buddy is convinced big foot lives in that area .
Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
Thanks guys. Yes Jon, its a heirloom quality glass for sure. Joey will get it one day. Spending three days in the wilderness with it starting Wed. Fantastic build.
Dang Joe, you've been a fishing machine this year!!! I miss fishing with you and your bro, but there will always be more trips. Your Wyoming trip looks awesome, lots of big fish too!
