After much hemming and hawing, the Mizzus has pronounced her choice for the September Photo Contest. Congrats to Midger on taken it in a very close decision decision over CSimcox.

Maybe we can hook up Thursday for some local action and a print delivery?

A great group of photos for this contest, it must not have been an easy choice. Congrats Mike and thanks, Curtis.

Thanks. That was taken two years ago. Unfortunately that river got burned this summer and all the pretty foliage is gone this year. It's one of my favorite big rainbow rivers and it will be interesting to see how many years it takes to come back. Mud slides have closed the road off and on, and no access is currently allowed to the river. Here's another shot of the river taken by a plane/helicopter moving upriver in September:

Congrats Midger,
Hopefully the fire will help that area in due time. It's amazing to see how long it takes for some areas to recover and regrow in our lifetime.
