I also believe that technique trumps tech when it comes to casting.

Couldn't agree more, plus that thing is but t ugly.
"Should you cast your fly into a branch overhead or into a bush behind you, or miss a fish striking, or lose him,or slip into a hole up to your armpits-keep your temper; above all things don't swear, for he that swears will catch no fish."

I couldn't agree more about casting technique trumping tech. I also question the handle, as cork is:
1. Pleasing to the eye, and can be artistically embellished
2. repairable
3. can be sanded to customize size or shape
4. non-slippery when wet
5. doesn't feel all that cold in cold temps.
6. over time it molds to your grip
7. and most importantly collects fish slime which builds MOJO.

I'm pretty sure it's revolutionary because it uses the word "EPIC". It also allows you to cast and mend in slow motion, giving you more time to think about precisely where you want your cast to land. That's what I learned from the video (which was produced very well).

FINALLY, someone that gets it! I'd about given up hope.

Frankly, I think casting is an overrated thing in fly fishing. High tech, color coordinated fabrics is where the sport is headed.

Yes.......and wearing clothes raises the SPF factor thus preventing sunburns....one of the goofiest market gems ever.

On that rod, I think a strong caster would snap it at the handle and just don't really see the benefit they're bragging about. I've watched a Winston snap at the handle by long distance caster when it flexed too deep,

Plus it looks more like a light saber, than fly rod. Maybe they''ll see this post and make some changes to please the traditionalist.
