SNOW!

Postby midger » December 7th, 2013, 10:24 am

We're getting snow up here this morning. This will be a much needed addition to the flows of the locals. Hope everyone else is getting moisture as well.

The forecast of snow in the valley/our area fizzled, but we did get some rain. Not much, but at this point every little bit helps. The cold front brought a dusting to the low elev foothills. Hoping they are getting more up in the high country.

Got out to do a little casting this am hoping to prep for some winter steel. It was a balmy 38 degrees, and not much of a test for cold weather gear. The citrus guys are getting a much need break though.

Justin posted a picture on FB of snow in Bishop. Looks like this one will bypass this part of the desert, but there is snow on the foothills.

Yeah, from the looks of the webcams, I may just stay down the hill tonight.

We got about 1/2" here but it has been cold and the roads were pretty bad until noon I just got back from 2hrs on the river and did well with BWO's. It's 38 degrees and about 8mph of wind in the Wild Trout area. It's been in the low teens at night

We ended up with about 3-4 inches--not as much as it appeared we'd get. Barely enough for the snowblower to function in, but still nice for the locals.

Bob,
Nice you were able to get out. Better that the fish were willing.

6 degrees this morning, ice in the guides but still a pretty good dry bite for about an hour today. Not many people fishing. Can't understand why.

Californians are spoiled most of the time that when a little "weather" appears they stay home. Haha It's okay more solitude and elbow room for those who still have a sack.

Great. I'll see it next week when I'm back in Boise. Hope you're getting out up there, and I've been told it's been very cold in the minus range, but as long as the rivers are still flowing............. ;)

Yea it is, it snowed last Sat and the snow is still around. All week long the hottest it has gotten was in the low 20s. Two days this week were in the neg. range when I went to work. We are supposed to warm up to the 40s tomorrow, so hopefully the snow is still here when you get back.
