I just read that yesterday. That's good as most of the folks that day play never bought them anyway and the locals were the ones getting "hit" by this fee which never seemed fair to me.

I never had a problem with buying the pass, I had more of a problem with the people who didn't buy a pass and were still up there using (sometimes abusing) the resources.

"...would eliminate fees in some areas of the San Bernardino, Cleveland, Angeles and Los Padres national forests."

What areas? That wording alone is vague and tells me that I'd be the one to unkowingly park in an area still under the Adventure Pass umbrella. I can see it now... hard day of flyfishing, walking over boulders and through brush, then a tiring walk out only to find that my beloved Creekmobile had been towed because of having no AP.

Mike,
They don't tow. They just give you a ticket if it isn't displayed, and from what I've seen, no real teeth to the ticket even. You can just pay it or get a pass and mail a copy of the purchased pass in and you're good to go. Also, from what I've seen of the proposal, the areas we fish will be among those exempted.

I refused to purchase a pass. Fortunately, my National Parks Annual Pass covered fee areas as well. For $80 annual, I typically got around $2-250 worth of use from it.
