Ok, so hear me out............

Postby briansII » January 10th, 2014, 5:07 pm

.......this time.

I know I've posted some hoakie devices in the past, but this thing really could be all, and end all of fly fishing.

Then again, I might fall face first and punch a hole in my chest.... :roll:

If I saw some one fishing with that thing attached to them I would feel an obligation to society to shoot them and bury their body in the sage brush. The gene pool of humanity is in enough trouble already , we can't have people THAT stupid breeding...... just my 2 cents.

You have to give people credit for thinking outside the box. Guess I am too set in my ways to even think about trying one. That probably would work really well for some of the Project Healing Water participants.

Reminds me of Rene Russo in Tin Cup where she has all the golf gizmos attached to make her a better golfer.

I never considered people with disabilities. Apologies from my previous post.

Me too. It didn't dawn on me that this might be a good tool for someone with a disability. Now that I see they sponsor Project Healing Waters, much kudos to Rexfly. :bravo;

I'll remain unrepentant. I suffered throught the entire promo video & it was all about marketing to fly fishermen, sans any physical limitations. Cast farther! Mend better! Nothing regarding its use as a tool for those with physical limitation. For sure, there's a market segment that will reap benefit, but for the rest, it's another item for next season's yard sale.

Except that it won't make you cast farther or mend better. Those tasks are not dependent on the reel location. :doh:
All this thing does is to remove the reel weight from the rod and put it on your chest. It might be less tiring to fish with (since you're moving less weight) but it ain't gonna make you fling farther or better. Casting lessons will help that! :Pop:

I don't know about you guys, but removing the reel from the rod throws the balance point off.
Without the reel on the rod it will be very tip heavy. especially when casting.
