I saw that video the other day. Very cool thing to see. Funny how many times they grab the fly and most of the bug is still sticking out of their mouth. I've only seen it a few times on stillwater, and maybe once or twice on moving water. I've witnessed a cranefly hatch once, and the trout were going nuts for them. I ordered some flies, and never saw the hatch again.

I noticed in this video how many times the bugs get away or that the trout misses.

I once saw a lot of trout take adult dragonflies off the surface on Crowley, and I tied up a few three inch copies, but I haven't seen it since. The trout in Hot Creek will sometimes jump into the air to catch the caddis that are migrating up stream.

I've seen something similar to the video on a west slope river with grasshoppers with many of the fish going over 20 inches. Again, I only saw it once, but we landed a lot of big fish that day.

Awesome video - thanks for sharing
Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
