Knock Knock

Hey guys,

Thought I would check out this forum, I've heard nothing but good things about this forum, great community, positive vibes, etc.

Been on the fly for the past 10 years, I'm based in the San Francisco bay area, and most of my local waters are in the Northern Sierras. I spent my summers at my family cabin located on Echo Lake in the Desolation wilderness, so the sierras are my second home. Got to love the plethora of high mountain glacial lakes along with all of the streams and creeks up there!
I look forward to chatting with the rest of you trout bums.

Welcome! Looking forward to hearing some tales of the northern Sierra.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Welcome to the site. It's a pretty laid back crew. The only unintended consequence of joining is you may find a collection of bums at the front door of your cabin someday. Throw beer at them and they settle down.

Welcome! I look forward to seeing some norcal reports - I do miss fishing up there sometimes.

Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
