Latest From Sage

Postby briansII » June 13th, 2014, 11:35 am

I saw it announce that Sage will released a new SALTwater rod. This will replace the old model, Xi3. The new SALTwater rod will incorporate Sage's Konnetic Technology. More sensitivity, straighter casts.....you know. All that good stuff. The action is tuned to the varied SALTwater conditions. Easy loading, but plenty of power. Looks like this new SALTwater rod will have all the usual SALTwater specific hardware. If it's anything like Sage's previous SALTwater rods, it should be very pleasing to the eye. I fully expect(no joke)this rod to be Sage's finest SALTwater rod to date.

Now, what to name the new rod? Anyone care to guess.

Love to cast one. The Xi3 was slightly soft in the tip for me for heavy loading on casts. Just my particular casting style for sure, but I could never bring myself to spend so much for a rod that didn't suit me perfectly. If the new one (Name it SaltPeanuts maybe? ;) ) suits me, I'll dump the bux in a hurry. If it comes in a 10' 8-weight, I'm a goner.

Retail price is $850. That's only up $60 from the Xi3.

The tip is slightly softer then the Xi2. I didn't think I would like that, but I do. It still has plenty of guts to sling T14, and I don't get as fatigued blind casting all day.
