Airstream Chronicles Pt. II

Postby WanderingBlues » November 5th, 2015, 6:37 pm

The adventure continues as we headed north into Central Oregon and spent a few days in the Bend area. The craft beers were numerous, along with the autumn colors.

I heard about those Oregon Redbands, but I'll be damned if I could entice one. You know how Oregonians feel about Californians... Still, the scenery did not suck.

Crappy weather moved in, forcing us down lower and into a water 87TT had clued me to. Little did we know how beautiful it really was. Spectacular, really.

Could this be the water for trout? * no, just whitefish for me, though it was nice for a bend. Caught more than plenty...

In any event, the locale was more than enough to feed the soul. Next stop? Who knows...

Looks like a great time and I'll bet you're all having a blast. Whitefish are really common throughout the NW and are a great indicator of the health of a watershed.

Interesting shot of the teasel--an invasive species, but it does look nice in floral arrangements.

Thanks for posting your continued sojourns.

If you're still in central oregon check out Irish and Taylor Lake. Just above Waldo Lake. It's a dirt road so check it out before you haul the trailor up. about 10 mi but well worth the trip

Curtis,

Looks like you and the Missus are having a great exploratory trip...really pretty country!

My only suggestion would be, that you had better get a bigger net if you head towards Kansas!

As liberal as Oregon is, I would have thought that they (Oregonians) would have embraced Cali's as kindred soul mates. Go figure!

Have a safe journey,

Jeff

Nice scenery. Some parts do look a bit crooked. We put our Airstream to bed for the next few winter months, and we're already getting cabin fever. Enjoy your adventure.

Good to see you doing well! I'm going to be living vicariously through the photos of your trip. Too bad there weren't more trout. I have my eye on Bend.
