Land of Enchantment

We are not settling down, but we are now resident's of New Mexico. Just bought a loft in the EDO neighborhood of Albuquerque in the original ABQ High School.

2 hours to the Chama, Pecos, and Valles Caldera. 3 hours to the Rio Gorge, San Juan. 4 hours to the Animas, Arkansas, and the Rockies. Hint hint.

And only 2 minutes from fresh green chili and the best Mexican food in the whole country. You lucky dog, you!

Beware the social trap of claiming which green chili is best though. You're about equidistant between Chimayo and Hatch/Deming, and there's no safe ground when it comes to an argument about which chili is best! Heck, friends in Luna have the temerity to claim their chili is best! :bananadance:

We've been down at T or C the last week- solidly in the Hatch zone. Picked up a Hatch green chile wine last night.

That looks like a grand place to return to......

But, you need to get back on the road so you can return. I can't imagine all the wanderlust was used up already!

Speaking for all of us who have been following the travels, you better not be! Nice looking place though. I might be out that way in June if you are in town. We have some airline miles we have to use by then and have been talking about a Santa Fe/Canyon de Chelly type vacation.

Good for you and the missus!

I have not been back there since the mid 70's, but still remember listening at night to the Dolly Holiday Show broadcast on KOB from Albuquerque, while studying (drinking beer) at Idaho State University.

I think PapaS already has his bags packed!

Regards,

Jeff

If the Ark is on your brain, let me know! I live ~8 minutes walking distance from it.

Nice but you need to get back on the road now so we can follow your adventure along.

Awesome Curtis!

If you want to see 45 miles of the Animas in one day, take the Durango Silverton train!
I went through 4 rolls of film back in my SLR days! Drop dead Gorgeous!
