February fish of the month/Pic of the month

Postby ColoradoXJ » February 15th, 2009, 8:09 pm

I saw what I thought to be one of the coolest pics ever, and realized no thread had been started... Here we go!

I nominate this pic as pic of the month:

Also, here's one for fish of the month. Good fish Joel, I'll vote for your crap, I mean carp.... 8-)

hey thanks for the nomination aaron. i only wish it was sunny outside so the colors wouldn't have been so dull. pretty cool you can see me and the cloudy sky in the eye though.

no monster brown yet, i sucked it up today. hooked four and lost em all. missed the strike on two fish that were over 5lbs, which is quite big for the locals around here. i'm starting to get better at stalking the fish and getting that first cast right but i feel the rest of my game slipping as i progress. trout fishing is hard

I agree that the picture of the month is this one posted by ColoradoXJ. It's well formulated and just a great shot.

For fish of the month the honor goes to Craigs young 6 year old who apparently can easily outfish Dad as long as she has her trusty Barbie rod.

Congratulations to both winners.

Great pictures, good choice Barrie. Not that I would have had a chance against such competition, however, may I make a suggestion for future months that you wait a couple of days before choosing? I was just logging on to post pictures from my trip that ended Feb. 28th, only to find I was already too late to enter them on the morning of March 1st. Sometimes it takes people a couple of days after returning from a trip to re-size and post pictures. Just a suggestion! Thanks. Jon

Jon,
Your comments are noted and I will do my best to curb myself for future choices. You can of course enter your pics for picture and fish of the month for March.
