An Overdue Black Diamond Trout Expedition

Into Bear Butt Canyon :)

Despite not feeling up to it physically, being concerned about air quality conditions, road conditions (open or not due to fires) and getting permits all dictated that I, my wife and guide David Gregory out of Yosemite Outfitters race to hit some remote water in Yosemite National Park in a tight time window.

With some luck I'll cobble together some fun video footage but for now here's a taste. Enjoy!

p.s. I should have posted this under "Fly fishing the Sierra: Rivers, Creeks, and Streams" sorry!

Looks like a great trip, would love to see you put a video together. I've never made it down that far into the canyon, I bet it's one heck of an adventure.

Really nice!
I know that's one heck of a hump down and out of that canyon but Browns like that would make it worth the hike.

Thanks for the comments. Hate me because my blog entry is such a tiny taste of what's roughly 200 photos and videos. Being a low water year, the angling was actually not as good as I'd like to think but I also needed the test; to see if I was still fit. It's brutal especially when you add the off trail stuff. More to come ...

Very cool, and always a real pleasure to see you. Can’t wait to have you out for some local fly tossing.
