I grew up a few blocks from Echo Park, and whenever we'd get tired of fishing there, we'd grab our bikes or skateboards and would ride down to Atwater and fish that stretch of 'river.' The tilapia were small, and the carp were feisty. We'd over turn rocks and catch crayfish, and then release them into Echo on our way back home. And that was

I just can't find myself fishing that place anytime soon this day in age tho. I guess I'm spoiled by having some pretty decent fishing close to me. I'm going to start bringing my fly rod to the local pond here soon.
I use the pond as my testing grounds for all my new baits, so these fish have seen every finesse bait known to man, so might as well throw a clouser or something that looks like a threadfin.
Perhaps even a blue gill fly?
