
For picture of the month I'm going to toss this one out there. Composition-wise it may not be the best, and it would have been nicer if it had been more of a close-up, but how often do you catch a fish coming completely out of the water to snag a caddisfly during a hatch? In this pic you can see at least two other rises and some of the caddis flying around. I snapped this picture during a period of insane feeding where the fish were rising with huge, splashy takes all around me. It was hard to hold the camera steady without shaking and it quickly went back in my pocket so I could fish some more. I never did get that particular fish as he was protected from a drift by a part of a submerged tree that is sticking up out of the water between me and him. But I got a lot of his friends!
