I spent opening day weekend with my friend Flowdog. Opening day itself was the only day the wind didn't howl, and we didn't see many fish rising. Flowdog hooked the fish of the day, a male brown of about 24 inches. We did manage to catch a few on dries, and my last cast of the day tuesday, was taken by a nice hen that took a Kern River Emerger (That fly works everywhere!). Here are a few fish pics from the trip:

Nice FEESH. By the way, you're not wrong about the KRE working many places... I caught an Arctic Grayling on a yellow KRE last fall in Alberta. (may I be the only person to ever catch a Grayling on a KRE? I like to think so. )
But seriously... that's a beautiful fish in the first photo. just gorgeous.
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables. http://www.adiposefin.com
