AO,
That is one small bass. I'm surprised it could even take a fly--he must've had very high hopes.
"Should you cast your fly into a branch overhead or into a bush behind you, or miss a fish striking, or lose him,or slip into a hole up to your armpits-keep your temper; above all things don't swear, for he that swears will catch no fish."

I shoot my 50 and 85 all the time. Good call guys. They work really well with off camera flash set to Rear Curtain sinc. Give it a shot next time you're doing a close up FlyBob of a fish.

This fish is definitely the kind you measure in pounds and not inches

Love the tail on that girl! :D :D :D
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

I'd like to enter this panoramic shot as my entry for pic of the month.

I couldn't imagine a more idyllic fly fishing setting that I experienced here:

For fish pic of the month I have two entries. I know that that is against the rules, but I throw myself at the mercy of the court. How can a father choose between his two boys? These, and my photo of the month, were taken on a trip I brought the boys on right after school got out in June. I didn't post a report because of the sensitivity of the area. But they had fun until the clouds rolled in, the thunder started booming and the wind rose as the temperatures plunged. Conor wanted me to make sure that I got a picture of his temporary tatoo. (Btw, he has been taught how to handle fish. His hand is wet and he is cupping the fish, not squeezing it).

Here is my entry for regular picture. I don't remember what flowers these are, anybody?
