Smoke

Postby midger » August 29th, 2009, 6:06 pm

Here in RS you can't smell or see any smoke or ash--We decided to send it all north to Ridgecrest. :o

I was in towards LA earlier today and could really see the smoke when I was in West Covina and on towards LA. Hope they get a handle on it soon.

Yep, I think we have all of it here in Ridgecrest :( Although, it seems to come and go. It was really dark here during the late afternoon. Hope you guys are safe, it looks to be a nasty one.

We're getting smoke now, but it may be from the Oak Glen fire--don't really know, but don't want it burning anywhere.

We just saw the tanker fly over. You can read about this fire on:

The Station Fire is now around 100,000 acres and moving where it wishes. It is now moving into the wilderness areas near the San Gabriel drainages. The areas that most folks fish are still untouched but no garuntees that will be so in a day or so. It stretches from La Crecenta to Littlerock and continues in a N/E direction. The deaths of two LA County firefighters have put a somber pall on the folks who still have to work this thing. Smoke plume stretches all the way to Las Vegas. No relief in sight.

Smoke in every direction now in riverside. Ash on my car this morning.

Don't know if you have run into these pictures of the fire yet, but pretty wild stuff.
