Got me a new Fishin Buddy.....Sorry Mark!

Postby flybob » September 10th, 2009, 11:01 am

Well, OK, I'm not really replacing Mark

Just got it yesterday, on a good recommendation.
After toobing all day long on a decent sized lake, with nothing to show cept a couple of creepy cats, I decided I needed an advantage.
My wife says it's cheating, I told her just because I will know where they are, does not mean I will be able to catch them!
Just increasing the odds.

Will let you all know how it works when I get a chance to take it for spin.

I see some distinct advantages to the Hummingbird over Mark. You will automatically win every discussion over where to fish, who fishes first, how long to fish, when to stop fishing and start drinking, and who the sexiest movie star is today, and those are just for starters!
Yep, Mark is going to have to step up his game to compete. I guess when you guys go fishing now we know who will be driving and who will be bringing the beer. :D

Sooo your new fishing Buddy doesn't drink??? I don't see their beer anywhere in those pictures... ;)

Those Buddies work well enough.. have actually borrowed them from friends and use them on the Float Tube... Your right They'll find you the Fish, but you still gotta get 'em to eat...

Whoever recommended this is a genius!

While these units will show you fish, IMHO, the biggest advantage of sonar, is it gives you depth, and bottom structure. Big bodies of water become much smaller, and less intimidating when you look at them through a sonar screen.

Expect Mark to be fishing right over your shoulder from now on.

I'll bet he'll take you back if you invest in a scuba mask, snorkel, and underwater tape measure and don't forget the beer. :D

It's ok mark, I'll take you now that bob has abandoned you. That is until I get myself one of these things as well

PS Do you think you can squeeze in a couple of sixers too?

Bob,

I love mine but you're right, it's looking directly beneath you and you're fishing 20-50 feet out in front of you. It's great for depth and structure. I do find it exciting to watch the side scan when 2 or 3 fish show up when you're trolling and then you get a hit. It's like playing video games.

Let me know when you're ready for one of these:
