I had no idea that she possessed such fortitude- I really question whether my endurance and faith could match the challenge as well as she has, after 38 years of marriage she surprises me...
Yesterday over morning coffe, looking over the day's agenda, I saw a bug on the patio slider. I got up to swat it, and recognized the tell-tale upright wings. A Callibaetis spinner!!
I don't think I can really explain how affected I was by this little bug. It must have been blown by the afternoon westerlies from a nearby golf course pond. Its symmetry and delicate beauty, its short life...well, without being overly dramatic, let me just say that I am encouraged. i accept it as a gift, a reminder that
"He is close to the broken hearted,
And saves those who are crushed in spirit"
I coaxed the bug onto a finger, took it outside, and a puff of breath sent it on...
