Doing The Kenai Twitch

Postby NorcalBob » September 14th, 2009, 3:16 pm

I use the term "Kenai Twitch" quite a bit and I get a few questions about what it is. It's basically a snagging/lining/flossing technique that's used a lot by "flyfishers" in Alaska, in particular on the Kenai River for sockeye. On my recent trip, I found this fellow who was particularly adept at the "Kenai Twitch" so I took the following video (it's even on the Kenai River!) which is better than a thousand word explanation!

Ooh.....I like it! He has a much more refined technique. I'm compelled to say, an almost gentlemanly style to snagging. Much more refined than Ogre.

Absolutely correct Brian! The "twitch" is for "poser fly fisherman" whereas Ogre makes no bones about what he's doing!!!! :gun: :gun: :gun:
