Well, if You do, then this might interest You...

If asked what the Most expensive Fly reel is, alot of Folks would probably say an ABEL or TOBOR, and yes they are up there in Price (but Soo worth it..)...However I was privileged to see and Hold the World's Most Expensive Fly Reel last week at the Spot.....

it's a Hardy Zane #3 Titanium Reel

The Reel is machined from Titanium (which I am told is really hard to machine in any great quantity). It's a Limited edition run, This one being #39 of 100 total reels made. The tooled leather Reel case runs $300 by itself..... The Drag is High quality and is very smooth and will lock down and slow a Smoking Fish, no problems....

The Price????? a Mere $8000.00 Bucks.......... :o :o

Who's interested??????? ;)

Do they make a Zane No. 0 for a 3 weight? These local trout need a drag that will stop a rouge bull elephant. ;)

Well MIKE.. that #3 is made for a 9 or 10 wt. rod.. so they might have to make you a #000 for those bad butt local trout.. probably only cost you $4000.00.. since it will be noticeably smaller....

Did Sasha get the last two, or do you have more in stock? :bananadance:

I looked at them a while back. Are they using a special, heavy duty titanium. Coming in at 15 oz, they are heavier than a Tibor Gulfstream?? For the price, I think i'll pass, and get all the sizes of Charleton Makos, and spare spools. ;) ;)

Actual fact , I thought they were $11,000 ; $8000 is plenty . For you Hardy guys , there is a Lee Wullf edition Hardy Bougle V , made in England , going up on Robert Selb's website at www.classicflyfisherman.com I just passed it by last week , going to Mexico next week and didn't want to spare the $595 that Robert wants for it. I think that is the price he quoted when I called him a week ago. Hardy only made 100 of them , very collector friendly. The reel is sage green and gold , it would look good on any rod.

"TOBOR"?
Referencing: http://www.moviecatcher.net/images/tobor-the-great1.jpg.
I mean is, that reel sure does look like a sort of robot.
