I've a Rio Gold WF 4wt line that I really like. I somehow managed to slice through 2/3 of the line while landing a 20-inch rainbow. I found the slice the next day while rigging up. I had to cut about 3.5 feet off the head. That said, the line still seems to cast fine for me. Best line I've used in a 4wt so far. Far less memory that the Rio Grand 6wt line I use to use. That one I replaced with an SA line.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

I love my Rio Gold, but this line sounds like a great deal. The double taper sounds like a good thing too, since not only can you turn it around after it wears, but casts softer then a weight forward.
Set the hook!

Mike, thanks for your take on the line!

Always good to get an honest opinion.

Thanks Mike. Hope the deal is still going on for a while, as I still need to replace my 3wt SA Line.

I can see the future on this one.

ME: "Hey babe, I've gotta buy some fly line"
WIFE: "Didn't you just buy a new rod that you've been building in the family room?"
ME: "uh...."
WIFE: "And Didn't you just buy a Bear Canister?"
ME: "...."
WIFE: "And Didn't you just buy a new Down sleeping bag?"
ME: "Ok you're ri--- "
WIFE: "But if you think you need it, go ahead, you don't have to ask me for permission"

Ahh... the age old question of what's worse: discussing beforehand "frivolous" purchases (I have to be honest, I can live fine without new line), or Getting the interrogation when she finds the UPS box on the doorstep. I generally choose the interrogation... but *, there have been quite a few boxes lately.
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

Either that or one of those grand old tests they like to give

Love this line and a good improvement over the first version. Used mine for about year or so now...DT 4wt.
